Ovenware and bakeware material: Porcelain

 

Porcelain

Best for: Baking casseroles, pies, flan, quiche, soufflés, and tarts. Good for ramekins and gratin dishes.
Heat conduction: Good but may over brown dishes with sugar. It can take high temperatures and retains heat evenly.
Versatility: Microwave, oven, broiler, and freezer. Cannot use on the stove top.
Temperature change: Avoid sudden changes in temperature.
Non-stick surface: No but can be greased.
Care: Breakable, may chip or crack if not handled carefully.
Ability to change size/shape: No.

Clean: Cleans easily but may stain. Wash in hot soapy water.
