My two very good and extremely knowledgeable friends have kindly agreed to lend me their extensive wine expertise to share with you. Here are their profiles:
Kimberley Drake, Kee Club
As Food & Beverage Director for Kee (owner of the private member’s clubs, Kee Club, in Shanghai and Hong Kong and Alfie’s in Hong Kong), I am managing and developing the Group’s F&B offering. I fell into the food and wine trade ten years ago in New York and I spent the next few years doing my time in various restaurants across the city. More recently, I was a sommelier at Jean Georges, a 3-star Michelin restaurant in New York and then in 2008 I moved to Hong Kong to be the opening Head Sommelier of Café Gray, where I developed the wine program for both the restaurant and the Upper House hotel.
I then moved to the Michael Mina Group in San Francisco where I helped oversee the beverage program for the group’s 17 restaurants nationally, before making my return to Hong Kong.
I hold the Advanced Certificate of the WSET and I am recognised by the Master Court of Sommeliers.
