Thank you for contacting me. Yes 16 grams is roughly 1 level tablespoon (15 grams) plus 1/4 teaspoon (1.25 grams). I hope that helps. They are delicious biscuits and we very much love Calabria, particularly Tropea. Enjoy!

We have come full circle in the opposite direction.
I was born in Calabria and was just short of 2 years old when we moved to Montreal, Canada.
I have always spoken Italian and still do (not Calabrese) to both my sons now 35 and 32 respectively.
The 32-year-old has been living in China for 7 years now, first in Beijing and now in Suzhou with his Chinese girlfriend and 8-month-old daughter, my granddaughter. In China, western names are not registered, so her name is Wu Luxi. My son tells me that in Canada she will be registered as Lucy Romano. Wu and Woo sound the same. My sons and their children are also Italian citizens through me. So Wu Luxi is also officially Italian.
I love your website, your philosophy of food and life and your dedication to Italy and its food.
BTW, for my money, the best place to eat in Italy is my native Cosenza. Try it out. I have been all over Italy, except Sicily & Sardinia. You’ll love the beach in Amantea (if you love Tropea) and the skiing in La Sila, not to mention the caciocavallo.
Have you ever eaten true Calabrese soppressata made in the country by Calabrian farmers? It’s heavenly and, as good as some commercial products may be (La Golosina comes to mind), nothing beats the true peasant version of calabrese salami.
