The perfect excuse to eat Nutella pizza

February 5, 2018 By wooweiduan Leave a Comment

Valentine’s Day is on the horizon, striking fear or longing into the hearts of millions. This divisive Hallmark holiday, intentioned to better the lives of those of us who may take their loves for granted the rest of the year. On the 14th of February we are meant to take stock of our good fortune that someone loves and cares for us and make an overture to acknowledge and reciprocate this sentiment. Most people resent this scheduled, nagging reminder and view it as an external interference into an otherwise exclusive relationship between two people. The truth is that sometimes life gets the better of us and we forget to take the time to spontaneously make our loves feel just how special they are to us.

Then there are those of us sitting at home alone, feeling like they were not invited to the best party of the year. Whatever you are doing on Valentine’s Day this year, I have the perfect recipe for you. Whether it’s a party for one and being kind to yourself is in order or you are looking for some low-key way of showing that you care for someone else, warm, chocolatey Nutella pizza is definitely the answer…..in heart shape for the holiday. Needless to say, children love it too.

Pizza alla Nutella (Nutella pizza)

Nutella pizza is the best way to use up any excess pizza dough. For illustrated step-by-step instructions, click here.

1 pizza dough recipe

Butter, melted for brushing

Nutella

100 grams hazelnuts, toasted and chopped

Preheat the oven to highest temperature it will go (usually 250C).

Divide the pizza dough into 6 parts. Place one section of the dough on parchment paper. Roll the pizza into a round and use your hands to shape into a heart.

Brush the top with melted butter and bake in a hot oven, preferably on a heated baking stone or overturned baking tray until golden, about 10-15 minutes. While hot, spread nutella over top of the pizza and sprinkle with hazelnuts. Serve while hot. Repeat with the remaining dough.
